On 13 March 2026, an
online meeting of the Co-Chairs of the Digitalization Working Group of the
Foreign Investors’ Council (FIC) under the President of the Republic of
Kazakhstan was held: Kazakh side co-Chair - Mr. Zhaslan Madiyev, Deputy Prime
Minister - Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the
Republic of Kazakhstan; foreign side Co-chair - Mr. Saken Zhumashov, Managing
Partner and Executive Director of KPMG for Central Asia and the Caucasus; with
the participation of Ms. Zhanna Baidasheva, Director of the Kazakhstan Foreign
Investors’ Council Association (KFICA).
During the meeting,
participants discussed the current priorities of the Working Group, as well as
issues related to the further development of the digital economy and the
implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.
Particular attention
was given to preparations for the upcoming 38th Plenary Session of the Foreign
Investors’ Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
scheduled for 2 July 2026,
which will focus on “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Sovereignty: Developing National
Technological Ecosystems in Kazakhstan.”
Participants also
reviewed plans for a thematic
roundtable on the application of artificial intelligence technologies,
as well as issues related to the development of digital infrastructure and the
involvement of international technology companies in projects in Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting,
the parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue active cooperation within
the Working Group to promote the development of digital technologies and
strengthen investment collaboration.
